A Poor Year for Mangos

My mango trees have not done well this year. They set a very few fruit from the first bloom last fall. With luck I may even get to eat one or two this year. Sadly the later blooms did not do so well. I think a combination of cold and wet weather at the worst times may be the culprit. I have friends further south, or closer to the ocean, who have fared better.

Mango's...sweet...sticky and the taste only the Gods could improve upon (maybe!!)

I have not founf many this year (and my own tree is as yet too young to help me). But I seek and hope. (never buy the ones from cventral america..they do not survive the shipping with any flavor.)

Mango ice cream...mango pie, mango dumplings...ah...if the gods have anything better- they kept it for themselves!!
(betcha ya never thought a cat could be so enamored of mangos!!!!)

Oh, the loss of Mango pie with the passing of Knollwood groves. My mango you gave me still lives and prospers but alas is also not old enough to ripen fruit but it still tries every year. Remember the years I had a Hayden in my backyard....Mango heaven.
